Violet was raised in Pacific Beach, Washington. Upon graduation from high school (where she was a cheerleader for all four years), Violet Blue headed off to college to study Environmental Science at The Evergreen State College. She then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and began stripping at Tally Ho. Her stay only lasted 6 months though, as she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and enrolled in beauty school.
She continued to strip in Salt Lake at a club called The Million Dollar Saloon. It was there that she was noticed by adult entertainment industry agent Roy Garcia and was convinced to move to Southern California to pursue nude modelling in 2000. She eventually began appearing in adult movies because, as she states in interviews, her agent couldn't find enough work for her as a model due to her "look."
